I've noticed a few fans like this image...
A few of you.
It's an old image...one I'm not all that fond of anymore. Not fond of the image, the character actually is well...kinda a cross between grumpy grandpa and Papa Wolf.
That is Skie. Pronounced like the sport "ski" not "sky", as I've noted a lot tend to do.
But we're going off of ie logic, like the words "believe" "chief" "relief". Skie.
And yes, that Skie. As in, Dragonlance Skie.
Yes, that's how I draw him, shut up.
This guy holds a small place in my heart, after I kinda rescued him from that death in Vanished Moon that I hated and separated what I wanted Skie to become from what Jean Rabe turned him into in her Dragons of a Fifth Age trilogy. Skie aka Khellendros, became so obsessed with bringing back Kitiara that Rabe might as well should have all of his dialog with: "Kitiara." We get it, Skie, you wanted to bring back Kitiara so that you can at last bang her. Because we all knew you couldn't stand the idea that soggy clam Tanis ever getting the chance ride that vicious viper.
Skie: "One day, one day...I'm gonna be the one to put a saddle on Kitiara's backside. Damn it, Tanis beat me to it again! He doesn't even love her. In a world where dragons have no problems with humping mortals, why can't I ever get a chance to tap that?"
And I'm serious, that's where Rabe decided to take the character.
Which pissed off Margret Weis so much that in her book about Kitiara, he pretty much became well...a glorified taxi driver for Kitiara. Oh, and Dragons of a Lost Star and Dragons of a Vanished Moon Weis killed off Skie with her brand new Mary Sue character Mina. Who deflected a lightning bolt from Skie's mouth and struck him with it. Blue Dragons are immune to electricity, and Skie got struck by a bolt of lightning. Because said bolt was now powered by Mina's Mary Sue powers. That's why she did it.
Also Takhisis...aka this bitch...
...kinda helped her on that one. Of course that bolt struck a friggin over 400-foot long Advanced Alien Dragon Vampire and killed him. It was powered by the damned High God. We all now know why Kedzuel really doesn't like her. She doesn't follow her "non-interference" policy too well.
Moving on.
So I basically rescued Skie, stripped him everything that happened to him on Krynn and allowed him to start a new life on Earth...as Skie Khellendros. His dragon name is his last name, go figure.
And I also had him instead be a part of my first and only Stargate SGI fanfic.
In which Skie stole the Giza Stargate from Cheyenne Mountain, because some gnome kidnapped his human niece, and he ends up working with SG1 to get it back. Which resulted in him joining SG1 in the form of community service for causing several billions of dollars worth of damage. I also made him an Ascended Dragon, like Pyrothraxus, which made him pretty much a Physical God, but drama was created by the gnome having his niece which pretty much preventing him from curb-stomping the battle.
Also, the gnome used the Stargate to power a portal into the Far Realm...yeah that Far Realm...where the Reapers, King Ghidorah, and lots of other unkillable nasties come from...
It is actually very rough, and not one of my best.
So, yeah...I decided to go back to this guy. Because why the hell not? Maybe because dragons that spit lightning are pretty awesome?
And shut up about the hair!
