Autumn Country Sunset

This is an image that I actually at first took as a photograph on one of my walks.  And then I decided to do a landscape painting from it.  I don't normally do paintings from photographs, but I couldn't paint it while I was there.  I don't have an easel.  Photographs are okay.  But it was nice to walk.

This is a real place, it's the greenway walk that goes from Gradey's On the Water to well...a boat ramp. 

But it is a very lovely walk.  And for those of you who don't live where I live, it's hard for anyone to even think that this heavily forested and country hillside is just over a ridge from a bustling city.

So, it's nice to live somewhere that literally thick forests and flowing rivers are but a simple walk away.

And well...it was a pretty sunset.
